Walking the Beat is a program produced by Elizabeth Youth Theater Ensemble. Walking the Beat is a multidisciplinary arts initiative that unites youth, the community, and lawenforcement to enhance public safety and community well-being. The program addresses issues related to violence in the community and American culture,particularly focusing on children and gun violence as a leading cause of death in the United States. It emphasizes healing, reimagining policy to end violence, and promoting respect for life.
